JoAnn Inserra is a board certified Genetic Counselor with a Master of Science in Human Genetics. She worked as a Genetic Counselor for 14 years in various hospitals. She has been a Reiki practitioner since 1997, became a Reiki Master in 2000, and a Karuna Reiki® Master in 2008. She is an ordained Priest in the Order of Melchizidek, an Advanced Level Integrated Energy Therapist (IET), and a Level III Reconnective Healing® Practitioner. JoAnn is the owner and director of Turning Point Healing Arts & Education Center in Ridgefield, CT (Which is home to several practitioners offering a variety of healing modalities).
JoAnn is a member of the Advisory Board at the Institute of Holistic Health Studies at Western CT State University in Danbury, CT. She has worked at the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital, providing Reiki sessions to outpatients and inpatients receiving conventional treatment at the center. JoAnn uses intuition, experience and a deep spiritual connection in her Reiki, IET® and Reconnective Healing ® sessions. She specializes in care for individuals with cancer, back pain, Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. She finds it very rewarding to help clients heal core issues by applying advanced techniques that help heal the cellular memory. JoAnn teaches all levels of Reiki including Level I, Level II and Master Level as well as other specialized classes. She has taught in Danbury, Ridgefield, and surrounding Fairfield County and Westchester County towns for many years.
JoAnn is currently the Tools For Schools (TFS) Coordinator for Westport Public Schools, a position she’s held since 2006. In this role, JoAnn oversees the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Management Program for the district. She coordinates the program for 8 schools assisting them with Green Cleaning protocols and products as well as walkthroughs at each building. JoAnn has lead the district to win a National EPA Excellence Award in 2010. Prior to this, JoAnn was the TFS Coordinator for Ridgefield Public Schools for four years. She also lead Ridgefield to win the National EPA Excellence Award in 2007. She ensures the sustainability of the program as well as provides excellent communication, consistency, education and accountability.
